ACICA represents a well established reference point for private and public bodies and organizations, for journalists and researchers, promoting the development and the culture of the industry and the protection of the quality of the products.

ACICA contributed to the formation of CEN Technical Committee 263 ‘Secure storage of cash, valuables and data media’ for the drafting of the European standards on safes.
The Association promotes the product certification on safes, also by using an Italian certification scheme based on the EN 1143-1 and on objective tests.
Early in 1998 ACICA submitted to UNI a draft standard of safes for domestic use which became UNI 10868 in March 2000. This standard was used to prepare a European standard: EN 14450 ‘Secure storage units – Requirements, classification and methods of test for resistance to burglary – Secure safe cabinets’ approved in March 2005.

ACICA organized meetings, congresses and conferences, etc., participates to exhibitions concerning security and is active in spreading the culture of quality.
For the majority the member-companies are certified according to ISO 9000 and therefore committed in maintaining the certification.
